Create Your Logo in Illustrator

Today and next class we will scan and trace our best version of our logos in Illustrator.

After it is traced create 3 different variations. You may experiment with color, lines, planes and dots.

Introduction to Adobe Illustrator

Today we'll begin working with adobe Illustrator. Illustrator is a Vector Based graphics program. 

We will learn about the some of the basic tools in Illustrator and do a brief exercise using these tools.

Scan and post the work that we critiqued last class and answer the questions from the last blog post. Also write a paragraph describing what we specifically talked about regarding your work so far.

Graphic Translation Critique

Today we will critique our Graphic Translations. They are "In-Progress" so they do not have to be finished.

For each Thumbnail answer the following:

Can you identify the Points?
Can you identify the Lines?
Can you identify the Planes?

Are you using all 3 elements? If not, how could you add missing elements?

is the White balanced with the Black?

How are you using Positive and Negative Space?

What is going right? What is giving you problems?

The Art of the Campaign - Scholastic Magazine

Since we have an important election coming up, I would like you to take a look at how Graphic design and art has been used to influence the vote.

Read carefully and answer the questions from the Scholastic Magazine, The Art of the Campaign.

Do not write on the worksheets. Write the questions and your answers in a new blog post.

After you have finished the assignment, continue work on your graphic translations.
